I hate to squint.
« on: November 08, 2003, 07:12:13 pm »
I love this game but how do I get rid of the border/bezel thats around the outside edge? It's just to small too see even on my 19'' monitor. I would like it to fill the entire screen. I'm running mame32, is it even possible?

Look in your artwork directory for a zip file with the same name as the rom that you are launching. Delete, rename, or move this file. It contains the bezel for that game. If you don't want to see any bezels with any game then delete, rename or move the artwork directory.

Documentation, the mame project is trying to preserve as much arcade history as possible. People often forget that playing the games is not the main focus of the project though its the only reason that most people even know what mame is.

Or, rather than deleting or renaming the file, you could have just turned off 'bezels' in that games configuration, since you're using MAME32.

Or just don't download any bezels. I don't.

I have a 27" monitor... if the original had a 19" monitor... then using a bezel is closer to original... but I still dont' do it.

You can' disable the bezels in the mame.ini (overlays I think)... but you will loose some needed ones (like armor attack I think... and golly ghost)

That's why you disable it on a game-by-game basis, not all at once.
