Dewalt D26204K 1/4 inch Router

Hello to everyone!

Would anyone recommend the above mention router? Never used one before but do intend to make a few cabs and work with solid natural woods as well as MDF.

Is it easy to master? Powerful enough to easily shape 3/4 inch wood?

It's got a static base and a plunge base so shouldn't be an issue doing CP recesses but correct me if I'm wrong.

I've watched YouTube reviews and read some good stuff but wanted to get opinions from those of you that build arcade cabinets in particular.

I'm only going to use the router to make various types of cabs, fine wooden puzzles, models, toys etc.

Interested to hear your thinking.

Dewalt, Bosch, my opinion is that you can't really go wrong.  I have an older dewalt router without the plunge base but it works great.  All metal construction of everything on mine makes it really rugged.  Blast it off with compressed air every once in a while and it looks like it has never even been used.

I've been told that dewalt is better than most, want to get a router that will see me   Into a few years of work. Cheers jammin0, appreciate your reply.

Anyone else used this particular router for cab of CP builds? could really do with a honest view of this model.

Looks pretty good.  I'm a fan of Bosch for long-term life but Dewalt makes good stuff too.  It's variable, which is always a plus.  I think this would work just fine for you.  Don't forget Ear/Eye/Mouth protection while operating and get a good dust extractor.  Routers put out a lot of fine dust, which kills your lungs.

I'm also a fan of Bosch.  I've got the 1617evs pack.  Comes with a static and plunge base, nice big case, 2.25hp, variable speed, and 1/4" and 1/2" collets.  best purchase I've ever made.  I've had it for a couple of years now with no issues at all.  It's less than $200 for the whole she-bang!
