mamewah and mame on dell optiplex 755

Hi guys and girls of this here forum.

I really do hope you can help me, like many before i'm sure this has been asked time and time again so here goe's....................

I'm building a mame cab for my lads as they are so hung up on some of the new games COD being the main, so i decided to introduce them to some of the old retro games i played and loved (still do) from back in my day...

So after getting all the software:-  mame (latest) mamewah, roms etc installed what what was asked set my rom paths, exe path etc etc,

i then tested it all on my home built pc and voila all worked found my games lists etc and they played well, this i knew at that point my pathways were correct in the mamewah config mame ini directory....

Now i refreshed it all on a purpose bought dell opti755 with a new Windows XP pro fully upto date running great.........then...........

installed all files as before set up mamewah config with mame ini all directories hit run.....all ok at this point......checked games list found all that............cursered down to a game that i knew was working on my home pc..........then...............NOTHING.

it went straight back to the games list, i checked all my paths and commandlines they were spot on but still nothing...

this is my ini config file it works perfect on home pc (just pathway changed to suit home pc)

Are you saying that just one single game is missing or the entire game list? I'll ask the dumb question, is that rom still named its original name? You might try enabling fuzzy search, and always refresh your game list after making any changes.

Hi its not the games list or the roms, everything works spot on on my home pc,
but on the same set up on the DELL OPTIPLEX 755 it dont work,
when you click the game the screen goes blank for a split second as if loading then just goes back to the mamewah screen with the games list, i try a another game same thing, tried again this morning home pc fine, DELL same again...

Open a command window and try launching mame from there :

from the top of my head ...
browse to the folder where mame.exe is located, hold <SHIFT> + rightclick mouse => should give you an option to open the command window there.

otherwise use Start -> Run -> cmd.exe  and change directory to the right folder

mame [name of the game to run]

Might be a screen resolution or refresh rate issue?
Post your mamewah.log. It's in the same folder as mamewah (you might not see the .log extension).
