What about superstitious routines, like jumping through the gap in the ladder when you start Donkey Kong - or is that just me?

That is Crazy Kong not Donkey Kong.

I think he means the broken ladder gap on Donkey Kong on the first level.  Personally, I don't do it.  But in level 3 I do, since jumping slows your forward movement.  By doing so once at the start of the level, it allows you to jump over the blue barrel when it lands without have to stop.

Its been a long standing tradition of mine to die at least once on the first level of Donkey Kong.
