Control Questions
« on: November 07, 2003, 12:55:58 pm »
I have a few questions for all the experienced cabinet builders out there... I am going to make a prototype control unit, and have a few questions.

Has anyone used the Ultimarc "T-Stik"? How does it feel overall, and with different types of games, like fighting, classics, etc? Does the switch really change it from an 8 way to a 4 way, like with restrictors? Does it work good with pac man?

Also, the buttons Ultimarc has available look good, but how do they feel?

Well, thats all for now, thanks in advance!

I haven't personally used the T-Stik, but have heard good things about them.  You can switch from 4-8 way and vice versa with a switch (like it says) but have heard that it's not as good as using a restrictor plate or an actual 4-way.  But really, joysticks are a personal preference.  I play a lot of fighters and 8-way games so I chose to go with Perfect 360's from Happs.  But some prefer the competitions or japanese style sticks for fighting/8-way games.

The ultimarc buttons are just fine.  I purchased my horizontal pushbottons from Happs.

Now with cup beer holders!
