It is leaf switch, not leaf spring.

They are great all around sticks, but the lack of distinct positions might not be the best for fighting games.

My reccomendation for the best fighting game stick would be one of what I call the "Wico microleaf", which is the same basic Wico leaf joystick, but with microswitches instead. It has almost the exact same feel, but also has the exact clicky action you might want for your special moves.

They aren't that common, but they aren't "rare" either. I have at least one in my parts box. A lot of Sega games came with them around the System 18 era.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

Speaking of microleafs, I just received four of these from this guy. I must say I'm very happy with them. Especially for what I payed for them. As stated above they do have the same bases with the rubber bushing and all just like the leafswitch version. They definately are Wicos too and not some cheap knockoff. Wico doesn't make these anymore either so I figured I'd grab a few and try em out. They are brand spankin new and I just may transfer the actuators and leafswitches from my old leafswitch sticks onto these since the rubber bushings in my old Wico leafswitch sticks are pretty worn and loose. The only thing that sucks is that they don't come with the round conicle actuators to convert them to 4-way but if I decide to convert them to leafswitch sticks then I do have the 4-way actuators from my old sticks that I could use. I don't think I can use a round 4-way actuator off a 4-way wico leafswitch joystick on one of these without replacing the micros with leafs because Wico 4-way leafswitch joysticks and Wico 4-way microleaf sticks both use round actuators because the leaf version uses a cylindrical actuator and the micro version uses a conical actuator. Both are round but are two different styles. Allright.. enough rambling. I personally like leaf switches better but these microswitch versions feel pretty similar to their leafswitch grandfathers and I think they're worth trying for that price. Just thought I'd give a brief review and a heads up. :) I'll let you guys know how they actually feel during gameplay once I get a couple of these puppies hooked up.
