Just trying to gauge if there is any interest in flat packed DIY Bar Top Arcade Machines? I have sold a few on Ebay but wondered if there was any genuine interest out there in the real arcade community.

They're precision cut using a Plasma CNC. 2 player, 6 buttons all cut out, player 1 & 2 and 2 flipper buttons. I can send pictures if there is any genuine interest. PM me and i will send you my phone number if there is anything you would like to discuss.

Posting pics would generate more interest than having us ask you to send us pics. Plasma? Are these all metal?

I'd be interested depending on how much shipping would go for to the US.

Hi, I recently shipped a cab to the US for £60. I am trying to source a cheaper courier but cannot for the life of me find one. I think £60 is to much although still getting interest from the US. If anyone can find a cheaper courier with tracking and insurance I'm willing to use them. Also you are welcome to use your own courier if wanted.

The item wighs about 10 kilos and after been bubble wrapped well and boxed its about 70/60/20cm.

OK here is the pics, any questions please feel free to contact me.

They are made out of 12mm MDF. I am also trying to get them cut with coloured melamine and also some rigid PVC for a more light weight cab.

Just out of curiosity, how does one cut melamine with "plasma"  ???

Do you mean laser, perhaps?  The photos don't even seem to indicate this.

Erm...I'm pretty sure that the MDF in your picture has never been on the receiving end of jet of 25,000 degree Fahrenheit ionised gas! I have a CNC plasma cutter that cuts through 32mm of steel plate but it wont cut through MDF. I had to build a new CNC router table to cut it.

I suspect it's router cut; maybe on a CNC table that can also be equipped with a plasma cutter which might explain the confusion.

No matter though - the cut quality looks great  8)

Thank you for replying as you are totally correct. I asked the workshop and they confirm these are not plasma but laser cut. My error as they have both. Thank you for prompting me to ask and be able to correct this.

Managed to get some nice side art on perspex also, so if you want to change your side art ever, you don't damage the art or your cab.

I asked the workshop and they confirm these are not plasma but laser cut.

Honestly, they don't look laser cut either.  Lasers create a lot of heat, which means the cuts on wood are always brown or black, and will have a darkened shade around the cut.  You are showing CNC routed parts, unless they did some extensive sanding.  If the small holes aren't black inside, then they have been routed.  The slightly rough edge on the button holes indicate routing as well.

Here's an example of laser cut 12mm MDF;

Having cut parts now for arcades and pins for the better part of a year I can most certainly comment that those pics are cnc routed. As already said any laser type of cutting burns the material an will not leave a clean edge as seen here. Makes no difference in reality. The cnc router cut material is somewhat nicer as there is less cleanup for the end user. As for shipping over here to the USA, you would probably better placed to strike up a deal with someone over here to cut to your plans and take a cut of the top. Shipping cost kinda out weighs the value of a few pieces of wood I found when it comes to these.
Pm me for custom cnc needs...

Hello guys,

I'm making my first arcade machine and I would like to tell you about my bad experience with this UK shop called Arcade Warp (Arcade Emu before).

I contacted this guy called Mal Shaks (probably an abbreviation of his real name, Mario Shacallis) in order to get a custom made bezel, panel control and marquee. After a few emails in January I placed an order with him. He said that he could do Paypal but that with a bank transfer he would get me a discount of £5, so I transferred him £130 for the job (silly me!).

After that, he started to say that there was some trouble about the custom files I sent him to print and at some point he stopped replying the emails. I tried to contact him through the phone on the website but is always turned off! He has an ebay account with good rating but not very active recently, the mobile number on ebay doesn't exist either.

I'll speak to the bank to see how I can recover my money.

You guys have had any experiences with this website or this person? Anyone knows him?

Thanks for your help!

Sarria
