Rowe AMI MM 5 help

Ok here goes I have a Rowe AMI MM5 hard to explian all the issues howver i have video of what its doing.  It will accept a comand if A side of a record is selected it will pick up the record place it on the turntable and place the needle on the record, however after a few seconds the center spindle drops and even if you manualy move the arm to the end of the record it will not auto return the arm nor replace the record.  If i Manualy turn the cam back to the start postion i then can select a B side and it will always miss it by one slot.  Of course none of this is in the trouble shooting in the service manual I have.

Sorry you did not leave your name or where you are located in the world?
To best advise you of where to go for help on your MM5 jukebox.

My advice would be to buy a manual for the jukebox and fully read it before you do anything especially the adjustment section.

You will need to check all the adjustments starting with the first one and follow on until you get to the end.
Whilst doing this you can check for wear to any of the mechanical items and replace these if needed.

If you find that the mechanism/carousel is greased or lubricated then you should clean all of this off. Rowe Ami jukeboxes of this era were built to be almost lubrication free, and if any lubrication is needed it has to be done to the correct areas only and sparingly. For example the only lubricant on the gripper bow assembly is grease in the trunion casting sockets, gease on the self lubricating nylon trunion and cam gear is a waste of time and just attracts dust that wears the associated cast gears.

I would check the cam switch spade connections to make sure all the contacts are good, also make sure that these none insulated spades are not shorting each other out. Only the 110-115 volt microswitch that controls the turntable has insulated spades.

From what you say I suspect that a normally closed/open switch is dropping out being has the centre hub is dropping down and the reject circuit is effected.
