When I first built my MAME cabinet I spec'd out JLF sticks to be my main joysticks on the CP. In my haste to get everything in, I never really considered that I would want to be able to try different sticks, and so my holes were functional for the JLFs, but I've since discovered, not all that great for JLWs or LS-32's and such...some of the holes in my JLF mount wavered, thus preventing me from getting a centered a stable install for anything with the slanted holes.
So, I'm seeing what I can do to rectify this. The JLF plates were mounted horizontally...I figure, if I flip it 90 degress I have a chance of right this wrong, and providing my cab with much greater flexibility for the future. My question is, as stated in the subject, is there any right direction for orienting the mount plate?
I was watching a video with someone swapping sticks in an Astro City cabinet, and noticed that they mounted it vertically. This inspired me to consider this method. But my sticks are bottom mounted in 3/4 MDO (well, 5/8th wood, 1/8th plexi). Just curious if this is a viable direction, or is there something I'm not taking into account.
Thank you.
