Noob looking for some help hooking up ledwiz to buttons.

I have a few BLUE CONVEX LED LIGHTED ARCADE PUSHBUTTONS
From Paradisearcade and I would like to connect hem to the Ledwiz.

I have looked all over and I have not been ble to find simple instructions.

The LEDs have 2 connectors.
Where do they go?
Does one go to the led wiz if so which one and where?

I have started trial and error but I don't want to fry the board or LED.

I used that doc to hook up the first led I tried and it did not light up.
Not sure if I need to running the software on the pc that is connected to it before trying to make it light?

Yes, that is what will be controlling the LED.  You can test the connection by holding a wire against the metal USB shell, and touching the terminal screw.  If it lights like that, then it will light for your software.

I installed the led wiz software the led didnt light up. There are 2 wires coming from the led which on do i touch the usb shell with? Also which terminal screw do i use for the other one?

The Long one is the ground the short one with the resistor goes to the screws

The buttons are self contained. I dont know what side the resistor is on.

Well then,   I would think you need to contact armi0024 and ask him. He runs Paradise shop and should be able to help you.   You might be able to use the pictures from this page to figure out which one is the voltage source.

and so I dont look anymore of a dumb ass I said ground in an earlier post but i meant the voltage source... it was early this morning.

No, you use a different piece of wire.  You are, as a test, jumping ground from the USB shell to the terminal on the LED-Wiz where your LED is connected.  This should cause the LED to light, if you have it connected properly.  If it lights when you do this, your software will also be able to light the button.

This is only a way to test your wiring, and you don't want to connect anything up this way in any solid fashion.

Resistor is connected to the side that connects to 5v/12v when it lights up.

Part of the problem was the buttons with built in LEDs that I am using are 12v.
The led wiz driven by the USB is 5v.
I wired up a bunch of batteries equaling 12v and the led worked fine.
I know I could also get 12v from a power supply but I am using a laptop to run my machine so I will just order 5v LEDs and then everything will be fine.

The LED pic above is a 12v LED driven by USB 5v.

I've lit up 14 LED buttons and a trackball lighting circuit without a problem using USB 5v.

Bonus: This setup only draws ~81 mA. since I added an extra current limiting resistor.

After seeing your post I just hooked up 6v batteries and it lit!!

When I get home after work I will try my ledwiz again.

I finally got the leds working!
I wasn't able to hook them up to the banks on the led wiz because when i did they wouldnt light up. So for now only solid lights are working.
I guess more testing is needed or i need a voltmeter.
