Is the j-pac all I need?
« on: November 03, 2003, 06:12:44 pm »
Hey everyone, I just need to pick your brains here real quick.

I'm thinking of getting some arcade setup experience before jumping into my major project which, if any of you have read my posts, has been in planning for a while now.  I think I'm going to set up a simple MAME cab with the second cab I have to get used to some of the setup, and perhaps sell it after I'm done (or just have 2 hehe)

Anyway, i have a working Tekken 3 in an old Midway cab. Everything works on it. I wanna set it up with a simple 2joy, 6 button setup. I have the controls already and the comp with a geforce mx card. Is the Jpac all I would need to get this up and running? Is there anything else I would need? Does the Jpac accept 2joys, 6buttons, 2 starts, and 2 coins??

Thanks for any info you can give me, hopefully I can get this done during either thanksgiving break, or if not, definitely xmas break.
first off your and idiot

Man I love the internet, haha.

A jpac is all you need to hook up the controls.  The video and sound take a little setting up.  I suggest using the ArcadeVGA for the video as it is pretty much plug and play on a standard res monitor.

If you don't want to go that route you will be stuck with using dos and advmame and trying to make a vga cable hack.

You can read about the jpac and ask all the questions you want at ultimarc's website.
