Seeburg speaker upgrade
« on: January 20, 2013, 10:11:12 pm »
Hello,

Ive been looking for a jukebox for quite some time. Finally I found one (m100B) and it needs some furniture work. The only thing which is stopping me to buying it is the fact it messes the 15 inch loudspeaker.

Has anybody around tried to adapt a new 15 inch loudspeaker into an 60 years old jukebox? I was wondering if so, what kind of speaker might work fine with it? A good friend told me Celestion or Peavey might do the trick. However, I want to know about other persons' experience.

Thanks in advance!!

hi
that is an electrostaic speaker
4 wire's come from the amp to the speaker
1 set drive's the voice coil
well the other set set's up the magnet
so there is no permanet magnet
here is the spec's
>link>http://www.jukebox-world.de/Forum/Archiv/Seeburg/SeeburgM100B.htm<
and it call's for a 12" speaker
ppl have done mod's to beable to replace the older speaker with a newer 1
:2 wire:
but i do not like them as they cause the amp problem's
the site i linked for u sell's speaker's and a recone kit,if it indeed is the speaker?
unless it is torn/or comming off of it seround.? common
i would think a cap kit for the amp and chking the tube's at the same time would not hurt,6l6'sand 12av7/12ax7's will cause it to sound like crap
