Do I really need a trackball??? Deciding between X arcades
« on: January 19, 2013, 12:43:27 pm »
Im looking at either the tankstick or dual joystick. The tankstick has free shipping for $200 vs the dual joystick for $100+$30 shipping. I dont know much about mame Golf games but Id imagine would be the main games id use the trackball for. But I havent seen much info about Mame Golf games  :dunno

when I built my panel (forever ago) i put in a happ trackball in for one reason Centipede.. I played it for hrs in the laundromat while my mom did the family clothes. I even helped people carry baskets in and out to their cars for quarters, lol.. but having it on the panel makes it easy to navigate windows without the KB tray out.. as a mater a fact i don't even have a proper mouse on the machine.

I made some video compliations of most of the games that use a Trackball in MAME.  I hope these help:

Good point about the mouse..I never played centipede I went straight for Tekken and TMNT's lol. However I found a good deal on a tankstick on Ebay bought it and hopefully next friday ill have it muahah. Question for you do you label your buttons or somehow map them ?? Or is it with mame/emulators you dont really bother because the controls are all over the place??
