Menu Screen Problems - Please Help

I have a Killer Instinct 2 machine with both KI1 and KI2 boards that I can swap out.  The menu screen in KI1 is doing something strange.  I can scroll through the options, but I cannot use the buttons to select any menu option and I cannot exit out of the menu.  The buttons work fine in-game.  Is there something I am missing?  Why would this happen?  The coin button, volume up/down, and menu buttons on the coin door work fine.  It just doesn't make any sense to me

You'll be better off checking over at the KLOV Forums - http://forums.arcade-museum.com

There's a dedicated Technical section with dudes that work on the KI's all the time.
