Mimic: Alexander is 3 months old, so he'll hit that 6-month landmark in 12 weeks, and each competition is 2 weeks long, so that gives me 6 more competitions to pwn you guys before I'm unable to find time to play my cab for more than 30 seconds straight. Bring it!!!  :]

Popsicle: the wife & I decided that we're going to expose him to only retro home video game consoles for as long as possible, before he sees how fancy the new machines are.

Hardly! Trust me I know from experience it only gonna get worse not better! Untill at least 5 years old, that's when they become less needy. Enjoy a little bit of gaming time untill about 6 months old, while he is sleeping a lot. Once he starts turning, crawling, walking, etc FORGET ABOUT IT!!!
At least you will have your own personal gaming buddy in about 10 years ;)

Um, that's why you get one of those papoose bags. Put kiddoe in the front: full-time contact and visibility, plus you have yourself a little buddie as audience, witness, and, protege. Of course, if they barf, you need to have ninja reflexes.

When my girl was just learning to talk, I was playing Wolfenstein Enemy Territory quite a bit.  One day she was playing with toys by herself and she yelled 'fire in the hole!'   :D

You pointed 2 things already, why I wouldn't be playing with my cabinet with kids around. 1. Flashing lights from a monitor (that can't possibly be good for brain to process, not a doctor, just a hunch!) 2. Cleaning barf from under the joystick washers or around the push buttons!? NO THANK YOU!

Can popsicle pick a new game already!? I feel like such a "yenta" now, talking about babies, etc! This topic has been totally hijacked!  :D

It's nice to play a game one doesn't suck in, but picking a favorite you're good at is often a sefl-fulfilling prophecy.

Jesus, if I knew winning would bring all this responsibility I would've jumped into the fire lake.  Give me a few hours to help run this bat----steaming pile of meadow muffin--- crazy household and I'll fire up Penguin Kun when the kids are asleep.  I'll even post the first score I get, which will be laughable.

JUMP, JUMP, JUMP!

Seriously though, if you can't "we" can set it up for you. It's not like that didn't happen before. As long as we know, otherwise, you know joysticks are rusting, panels are getting dusty, etc.

Looks good.  Spidey is glad that you have fulfilled your responsibilities so well.  ;D

One minor point - You might want to change
"Romset :  Penguin-Kun Wars (US)"
 to
"Romset :  Penguin-Kun Wars (US) - pkunwars"
in case someone running command line MAME or a limited game list has to find/add the ROM .ZIP file to their games directory.

C'mon now, we not gonna argue over trivial nonsense like that, are we? Took me whole 5 min to put the list together as a point that if danny_galaga wanted the run down of all the scores, instead of being the nudge about it, he could've just do it himself, what's the big deal there? Perhaps OP has better things to do than make sure that his post is looked into till the end. What, are we children?

And I'll still claim there is no etiquette. When did it start? Who started it? Why? Who sign up for it? Who's gonna be the keeper of the etiquette? How is it going to be enforced? You see the problem here? Etiquette just takes the fun out of it.

Someone already started with the we have to have photos of game, machine, etc now if someone doesn't it's frown upon, what's next? Prize for winning? Oh, wait...

I guess I am lamenting the fact that when people enter a competition (even a non-offical one), they expect a few little things out of it. Sure I could hunt down all the scores, but it's kinda nice when it's presented. What happened here is that I couldn't even tell the comp was finished, all of a sudden there were pictures of babies!

I know no one meant it, but when the thread trails off like that, the message that is sent is 'hey, someone won and it wasn't you, so who cares about you?'. But runners-up like to know how they faired, even if they were last. You want to encourage as many people here as possible to enter. It seems reasonable to assume that whoever wins and starts the new thread, finishes it too.

Anyway, enough of that. Let me see if I can even play the next game on my cab! Game On!

Holy cow!  My fault guys, I just realized that I thought that the winner finished the write up in the thread, but then I just looked back at the last one and the OP did it, so sorry for not wrapping this up.

Congrats popsicle!  Here are the scores that someone posted earlier.
