Mess 136b spinner problem
« on: January 12, 2013, 01:06:31 pm »
For some reason, I cannot get Mess 136b to recognize my TurboTwist spinner.  Bear in mind, that my spinner works flawlessly within my Mame 127 build.  However, Mess won't even recognize the spinner within the tab menu.  The only console that I am using Mess for is Atari 2600.  As a result, I use the spinner for the paddle games (like Breakout).  By the way, I am using the GUI version of Mess.  I have also tried to play around with the default options.  I enabled the "enable mouse input" option.  I also changed the "Paddle" control from keyboard to mouse (I actually changed most of the options, except joystick obviously, from keyboard to mouse).

The spinner will not work within or outside of my Maximus Arcade FE.  Strangely, I have gotten the spinner to work flawlessly with Mess on my previous cab, but now I am baffled (I may have been using a different version of Mess back then, but I'm not really sure).  Is there anything that I am overlooking?  Thanks.

Try Mess 148. There were some input issues and stuff a few versions back.

Thanks for the tip, but I just tried 148 and still no luck. Could there be some obscure option that I am overlooking? The spinner works perfect both in mame and in windows.
