Mame filters

Just a question, seems like the Mame display filters can slow things down.  Has anyone ever produced an actual sticker that would go on a LCD and create the same effect?

Id thought about trying some sort of pantyhose, but never got around to looking for some.

Might want to try to print out a patters on a clear transparency film, high resolution, low toner, using a laser printer.

Ive also wondered what might happen, if one could get hold of an actual large dot pitch shadowmask, then encase it in acrylic.

---steaming pile of meadow muffin---, I thought this was a joke!  Too bad.

Anyways. Dude, if your machine ain't got the horsepower, either don't sweat it, or beef it up. Oh, or check out the SLG dealie.

In other words, please, don't go ghetto.

I recently purchased this device:

http://faiscaefumaca.com.br/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=52

It's a little more expensive than that other SLG, but it will give u scanlines up to 1920x1080 resolution. Works like a charm on my hi def LCD TV. Def a satisfied customer!  ;D

FYI, A Scanline Generator alone, isnt going to produce arcade accurate results.  Thats merely the space between bars positions.

However, it does nothing to replicate lower dot pitch monitor displays, such as color bleed mixing, transparency effect, edge smoothing, glow leak, and overall color output differences.

If you have the PC horsepower, and willingness to spend the time in tweaking it...
you can achieve much more realistic results from the new mame monitor output settings.
