I play a lot of different games, like sunset riders, street fighter, snow bros, etc but with my current joysticks I can't play fighter games
Do you think I can play 4-way games with those sticks?
While I think a stock JLF is already the best option for fighters, the stock engage and throw distances are a little long for other genres, especially shmups. I mod my JLF's to fix this, making it, IMHO, the best all-around stick:
http://forum.arcadecontrols.com/index.php/topic,120301.msg1275796.html#msg1275796I think my JLF's are great for 4-way games, but my main focus is on fighters, shmups, and console platformers. If you're a really die-hard Pac-Man fan, you might need a dedicated four way, but that's more of an "authentic feel" kind of thing. I think mine are perfectly capable as far as doing well in the game goes; I don't think you should need a specially shaped restrictor just to show you where the cardinal directions are.
If you stick with a stock JLF, it's a pretty decent all-around stick. The long engage and throw will only be especially bad for real "twitchy" shmups. For fighters, you will not be disappointed.
* personal opinion but if you go japanese go jlf, skip the ls32 for fighters its too hard to play on.
Agreed, I much prefer a JLF. I just mentioned the LS-32 as well, as it's probably the other most commonly used stick by high-level players.
