bought a mame cade from a board member today. when i got it back to my house, the controls dont respond. it is a jpac with jamma wiring ( i think). i get no response when I use any of the controls or the buttons.

if i plug the jpac (via ps/2) cable into another pc I have, all the buttons seem to work except the player 1 joystick (up,down and left.. right works)

no idea how to proceed

Go back and see if the board member you bought it from can help. He probably knows it better than anyone. Sounds like a bad ground.

trying to.. unforunately he lives 2 hours away

also the self test light stays lit on the jpac.... which i think is a good sign
