Wiring up some Topfire sticks to my 4 player panel
« on: December 27, 2012, 12:49:56 pm »
For Christmas my wife bought me a pair of MagStik Plus and a pair of Topfire sticks from Ultimarc.  I plan to replace my current P1/P2 sticks with the MagStiks (so that I can replace the crappy no-name stick on player 4 with the stick I use for P1 right now).

Pretty easy so far.

I also want to add the 2 topfire sticks to the panel so that P1 and P2 both have access to a topfire stick in dual stick games.

My question is, how should I wire them?  I know I want to wire the actual button to the P1 and P2 button 1 to minimize having to remap buttons in topfire games.

My current thought is I should wire the topfire sticks to the P3 and P4 position on my IPAC4 (share the wiring connection with my P3 and P4 stick).  If I wire them this way, I should only have to change the default R-Stick/L-Stick settings in MAME for P1/P2 and I should be good to go.

Has anyone wired a pair of topfire sticks this way?  Is there a better way to wire them?

Thanks
