Christmas Eve game pickup.
« on: December 24, 2012, 07:42:57 pm »
Got an email back on a craigslist ad I responded to days ago and ended up picking these up for next to nothing.

The two uprights are quite salvageable (the flash was not kind to them). The Time Soldiers even works (terrible monitor though). The touchmaster works as well. The Roadblasters even came with a spare control panel.

I left behind a complete Pole Position, a Defender with cloak and dagger sideart and control panel (and nothing inside) and a converted gutted Donkey Kong cabinet that also had nothing inside. I didn't want another Pole Position and the guy wanted way too much for the gutted cabinets. In fact he wanted more for each gutted cabinet than I paid him in total for the three complete games I got from him.

Nice score.

I'm hoping to find a Road Blasters around here someday.

Thanks, I will let you know if I end up needing them.

I actually tested the Roadblasters today. It was coming up with graphics corruption but was only running 4.5 volts. I got it to 5.05 and nothing got any better. One of the control panels didn't seem to work at all and the other one only had the buttons working. The gas pedal worked fine though. At this point I can't actually say there is anything wrong with the panels, because the input issues could be on the board.

A friend of mine has a supposedly tested working boardset and control panel (that he never personally tested), we are going to try those out and see what happens.

Switches for the steering yoke? I've been trying to find some for my Roadblasters.  How much ya asking for them?
