Wiring a Jamma Cocktail Cab - Help needed
« on: November 25, 2012, 08:26:21 am »
Hiya All,

I started making my own cocktail cabinet a few weeks ago and am now up to the wiring but am running into major snags as to be honest i haven't got a bleeding clue what i'm doing now. I've managed to wire up the P1 and 2 controls but can't figure out where the rest of the wires go. this is a pic of my power supply and the wires.

The black wires are ground (A and B,), the red is +5V (C), and the yellow +12V (F) i'm assuming the red and yellow go into the corresponding points on the power not a scooby where the black with the funny end goes.

any help is much appreciated

Which jamma harness did you purchase.  It should have come with a wiring sheet since some harnesses come with some non standard (extra) wires.   If you did not get a wiring sheet do you have a pic of your harness?   The black wire with the funny end sounds familiar.

I do not see any picture of your power supply.

AB GND   also   12
CD 5V      also   34
F    12V   also    6

Most of these are wired together on the pins of the jamma connector.

EG AB an 12 are probably wired together and will have black wires that will have continuity when a board is plugged into the connector and the traces connect them together.  The same goes for the grounds at ef and 27 and 28.

I followed bobrobert's guide, and it went pretty smoothly.

Straight-forward, and a very neat outcome.
