Modding a Wico Command Control?
« on: November 22, 2012, 09:01:42 pm »
Hi,

I have a couple of old Wico Command Control (bat) from my commodore 64 and I loved those joysticks.  I was wondering if they could be modded and placed on an arcade control panel and hooked up to an I-Pac?

Here's a picture of the said joystick: http://atariace.com/images/atariace.com/atari/images/joysticks/wico_command_control.jpg

Thank you for your help!

Yep, that could be done easily.  Cut the plug off, find out which wire is ground and which are for which direction/button, and you're all good.

Option #2 - Wire up a 9 pin D-sub so you don't have to chop off the connector.

C64 used this pinout configuration.

Same basic pinout as Atari 2600 joysticks.

I used to have one of those, it is easily hooked up but not so easily mounted.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

AtariAge is a great source for Atari related info and pics.

The sortable lists of game carts with links to manuals are great for looking up game options.
