Guys need Build and Parts help for a Joystick conversion
« on: November 04, 2012, 03:00:22 pm »
Guys just wanted to get your thoughts on the parts i would need for converting a X-Arcade Tankstick over to Better Joysitcks, Buttons, trackball and a 1 Spinner if not 2. I figures i can use the pre-exhisting wiring for the joysticks and buttons to a point. One big question is what would i need to light everything up? Id love to have all my buttons and even joysticks and trackball light up. I dont really care about the costs because the cool factor is worth it  >:D

You would be better off selling your tankstick and starting from scratch with the level of modifications you want to do.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

You can use led wiz' from Groovy Game Gear for lighting control but you may need a power source depending on loads otherwise you take power from USB

Yeah, if you're going to the trouble of putting quality parts in that thing, why not make your own panel and fix the button layout while you're at it?

...and yes, the X-arcade will be easier to sell in one piece.  Otherwise you'll end up with a pile of extra parts you can't get rid of.
