Happs Perfect 360, has anyone used with a gamepad hack?
« on: October 24, 2003, 12:29:51 pm »
Okay, i understand that the happs perfect 360 outputs a digital style "active" signal. Does anyone know for a FACT if it is active high (5v) or active low (0v)?

And please don't point me to
http://www.arcadecontrols.com/arcade_controls.shtml#joystick_360

It says "so i'd guess" there and i'm looking for something a little more concrete :)

I've also read the info on
http://www.mameworld.net/pc2jamma/pc_arc5.html and while it has the circuits to invert the logic, it dosn't answer my questions either. I don't even know if i NEED to invert the logic :)

Thanks in advance!

lol, yeah right  ;D

I just ordered 2, i will MAKE them work, i'll try to document how i do it for others.

BTW i just checked and the microsoft sidewinder (gameport edition) has active low! So up/down/left/right always have 5v and when they get pulled low (via ground) it registers the movement!

Nothing was weirder then stealing ground from my coinbox lights (powered via PC) and using it to move the joysticks, lol :)
