In my opinion it needs a textured background..... and Akuma needs to brush his teeth. I'd pick a more interesting font as well. um......... and I'd mix up the character perspectives a bit. Most of the characters are the same scale, neatly spread around the perimeter. Usually I say stick with the same scale but in this case it might give it alot more interest... think frosty's tutorial with the large face... it gave his piece alot of punch.. it's worth a try. Just mix it up a bit more. The MAME doesn't really fit either. Maybe a smaller "powered my mame" in the corner if you must have it?

It sounds harsh but I don't mean it to be.

If you build a frankenpanel, chances are I don't care for you as a person.

Looks good so far but.

need a background.
put more people in there. You are missing some other cool evil dudes.

Venom(marvel)
Magneto because is the coolest marvel vilain there is.
Maybe DR doom because he looks dangerous.
Get a better font.

good luck !  ;D

Ya you need a different kind of font,  More characters and a background.  Its  a good start though

Large white areas on a marquee is a big no-no...
You'll end up being blinded by the light...
(Unless you never plan on using a light.  :( )

Stick with a darker background pattern or color (maybe a good gradient fade top->bottom)

Also...
I'm not big on character names... But the 2 on the left...
The cape still has an obvious edge (a little white there) to it.
That will stand out terribly when back-lit.

Again, be carefull with the white you have on you final marquee, it will be BRIGHT!
I'm not a freak!...
Oh wait...
Yes I am...
