Looking for Mame .74 Win Pentium Pro
« on: October 22, 2003, 12:09:55 pm »
Is there anywhere I can still download this? I just upgraded to .76 and I think I found a sound  problem in a game, that wasnt there with .74...

As long as you're not talking about the mame32 versions, all versions are still downloadable at the MAME homepage.

If you are talking about mame32, request that someone post it in ABEM and it should show up shortly.

Also, in the future, you might want to consider keeping old versions around, just for this reason.

Goto mame.net.  Goto downloads.  look at the link for .76, modify the url to 74 and you have your mame version.

Ah, I didn't realize that http://www.mame.net/oldmame.html had not been updated for some time.

thanks, there is definatly a problem with Mortal Kombat 2 when you insert a coin, you should hear the announcer say excellent, but nothing happens, I tried version .69 and the announcer said excellent, but not with .76, now to try .75

UPDATE: .75 does the same thing as .76 no "excellent" sound when inserting coin..

Apparently this is one of those bugs that isnt a  bug.....

ISSUE: mk2 When you insert a coin a sound is played. In Mortal Kombat 2, the sound is a voice that says EXCELLENT, but when you insert a coin during the attract mode the sound doesn't play. It only fails when you insert a coin during the attract mode, but it works when a coin is inserted when you are at the character select screen or playing.

NOTES: "OK, tested on the real PCB. This is correct behaviour. If you insert during attract mode, there is no sound, but if you insert during play/character select, there is a sound." - Reznor007
