Does anyone know were PSX Mame wants the CHD's?
« on: November 01, 2012, 11:40:08 am »
Using it for some games and it won't find any CHD's. Tried the subfolder, mainfolder, put the chd into the rom, made an imagefolder... any ideas?

CHDs should be in a folder having the same name as the CHD.  (i.e. kinstict.chd should be in a folder named kinstict)
That folder should be in the same folder as your roms.

It is. And it works with GroovyMame without problems. PSX Mame just doesn't find them. From example with Judge Dredd (same with Crypt Killer or other chd's):

jdreddc.chd CHD ERROR: unsupported CHD version
ERROR: required files are missing, the game cannot be run.

I had to google psxmame.  Doubt you'll find many people with experience with it.
Sounds old.
What version of MAME is it based on?
Are you using CHDs meant for that version?

The compression method for CHDs changed recently.
If you're using new CHDs, they probably won't work.
