starburst auctions ( NOV 8/03)
« on: October 17, 2003, 08:53:26 am »
I know the next starburst auction is on November 8th, but I am wondering what time it begins, do they have a viewing before bidding starts?

Also, does anybody know what types of payment they accept and what ( ID, membership fee, ect) is required to become a registered bidder

I am hoping to buy a non working cab or 2 to mame, also, I think a trip into their parts department may be in order as well for some goodies :-)

Thanks for the info

YOU CAN'T GO IF YOU ARE GOING TO OUTBID ME!!! :P

J/K You have to shell out 200 cash to be a bidder and anyone can do it.  then if you buy something its a minimum 20% down with the balance due on pickup.  Typically you have to pick up by the following monday or its 5.00 a day storage.  I think they accept all forms of payment but i'm not sure--also, I have never visited their parts section so I'm not sure what thats about either.  Most games go for 125 to 150 if its a 19" fair condition or not that popular.  Any sweet games go for much higher--and even total pieces of crap go high too--its pretty weird.

If you don't buy anything you get your 200 back.
its better to not post and be thought a fool, then to whip out your keyboard and remove all doubt...

So the 200 bucks you put up front goes towards your purchase if you buy something?, or is it a one time registration thing?

I dont think you have to worry about me outbidding you, just meet me there and let me know what unit(s) you are going for and we can work cooporatively (unless its something i really want, then all heck will break loose) LOL J/K!

Thanks for the info Menace

p.s If you want to meet up there, let me know so we aren't driving the bids up higher unnecessarily.

Ahh I remember that great day when i picked up a sinistar and a stargate cab that were listed as hardware only. Got the two for $50. And put monitors and boards in them and they sold the next week for $1200.00 each. Ahh the good old days before ebay.

Yes and yes--but the 200 is just to demonstrate seriousness--you get it all back if you don't buy anything.  You should also bring a long extension cord.  showing starts at 10 or so and the auction starts 11'ish and is by no means organized ::)

Yah I wouldn't mind meeting you and other byoac'ers there--it would be cool--or nerdo-rama as my fiancee will no doubt call it later (although she has made it to everyone I've been to--closet gamer for sure) ;D
