Is this pointless? God I would love to have these for my cabinet.

not unless you want to invent the adapters to do it.  They just don't hook up to PC's.

Best you could do is transfer an Act-Labs into a more authentic shell, maybe add a recoil solenoid, and maybe upon maybe add my old, unpopular idea for arcade-perfect autofiring.

That would be the arcade perfect gun.

But, arcade guns definitely do not hook up to PC's.
There is SO a spoon.

There are a few problems you have.

1) physical adapter.  Where to plug it in.  There are a few options for this, but I don't know/think that the parrallel would do.

2) Software drivers.  This is a hard one.  Don't expect it to be easy at all.  And I don't believe there are any tools to help out there.

3) Won't work with a VGA monitor.  They are sync'd to the horizontal (or vertical) fequency... the one that doesn't change when you change your refresh.  IE, you will get this to work on an arcade monitor only.

I have the monitor and I agree about the no adapter for a pc. I was wondering if I could even jama it? I have one for a playstation 1 that recoils and everything, but  again I can't use it.

i dont understand why act-labs doesnt take their gun and put the time crisis chasis on it instead of the martian gun!  well offer the martian gun and the time crisis-esque gun, that would make so much better business sense.  i know for a fact that i would buy at least one today if they had that design.

I thought that WAS what the port was for some sort of vibration adapter. As for making a TC style gun, I totally agree.
