COCKTAIL SCREEN OPTION
« on: October 29, 2012, 07:03:30 pm »
Alright heres my question. I have a cocktail table verticle setup. 95 % of my games look and play great with the default options screen set to cocktail. There are a few games (MS PACMAN and GALAGA) tha the split screen just ruins. I'm running MAMEUI32 can I set up a default screen to auto for just a handfull of games and leave the rest in cocktail?

Hey Matt,

I'm writing this from memory but I believe there are two "cocktail" options in MAME. One is in the dip switches that makes sure the screen flips for second player. The other is in the "video options" and is really only supposed to be used for horizontal games that you can play head to head in split screen (like joust).  This one should be off for all of your games except for the horizontal oriented games that you want to play with a head to head opponent. Hope this helps.

Thankyou, That makes sense. Ill try playing with the dip switches. For now I came up with a solution of downloading a second copy of mameui32 and renaming it mameui31vertical. Entered mamevert as other emu in my mala options. I have all my horizontal fight games running with a split screen on one emu and all my vertical games on the other. It also creates a more manigable gamelist.
