[FA] VERY RARE cabinet on ebay!!!

Not mine.  But this is an extremenly rare cabinet...  it was never mass produced.  According to KLOV:

"To Clarify, and stop the rumors once and for all, this unit was never produced. The actual game was about 75 percent completed when the project was cancelled due to numerous reasons. The closest anyone outside of Atari or the licensing company ever saw of the prototype is what you see on the arcade game screens in the film, which were based on the initial designs of the coin-op game. There was one set of wire-wrapped prototype boards and those may have been reused in the creation of other games. The prototype software for the game may still exist in the archives at Atari, but getting access to it, and in turn using it, would be nearly impossible.

A version of The Last Starfighter game was created for the Atari 5200, however. The the ROM image for the game has recently become available and it can be played using a 5200 emulator."

Gah, it is a repro. Since it wasn't the one in the movie, and was only created for the documentary (because they didn't have one), then in my opinion it is worth about as much as one you would make yourself.
Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

OMG I was going to make that my cabinet!!!!
LOL
I'm still using that as my side art, but I am puzzled by the picture showing the game playing as there is no game whatsoever.

Man... I would hack the !@# out of that one.  Only a few hundred right now!  SWEET!

I'm thinking of drilling a few holes in the front and put a few ultimate joysticks in there and have some WAY SWEET mortal kombat!

I could also see taking the monitor out and get an XBox or PS2 in there and you could have some sweet online game machine!  Add TiVO and your good to go!

I think I would paint the sides red... blood red!

So, can someone design a marquee for me??  Thanks!

Hey, quick question... Do you think I might be able to add 4player control panel with BOTH trackball AND spinner?  I'm not sure... but it will be pretty sweet!  But if not, I think I'll just put my Hotrod on the front!   That would be way way sweeTZ!

The the sarcasm is thick in this thread... sheesh! ::)

Anyhow, Here's an actual rare cab on ebay for you...

Mini Robotron

I'd been watching this one since it was posted & it climbed pretty fast over $1K... It's been idle @ $1500 for a day or 2 now...  It'll be interesting to see what happens the last couple of hours on this one...
