Jammatized Dreamcast?

The auction is over, but this looked interesting.  From the description it looks like someone jammatized a DC.  I wonder if other consoles could be hacked like this, or is there something unique about the DC that makes it suitable for a jamma mod?  I know nothing about DC's, but this just seemed pretty cool.

Oh yeah this, yeah they make it for other systems. There's some board out there that you can buy online called a MGCD. It makes it so on games that were in the arcades but came out for systems can become like Jamma games. Like you have MvC2, it has it so it doesn't go to the select screen and stuff. Instead it goes straight to arcade mode. Also the start button doesnt react as start it reacts as taunt (Start + A). Pretty cool in my opinion. Ask SNAAAKE about them. He worked at an arcade that had them. He also told me that a while ago he say GGXX being played on it at a local arcade. Also if you go and do a search you can find ones for PS2, Xbox, and GC. Be prepared to pay around $230 - $400 for these things. I might get one for each sys that I put in my cab when I get a little extra bread. Thanx.

-See Ya!!!

P.S.: Yeah these boards let you hook up light guns and other arcade parts to them, pretty tight if you ask me.

MGCD in the house...its compatible with most dc games(not all).
Works with arcade steering wheel and guns as well.
We got arcade machines with dreamcast using these MGCD boards.

This thing even displays "insert coin".
Like a flash between insert coin and push start but you can only play after you insert coin and hear a loud beep.
thats how my local arcade have GGX2 running on ps2.

(techinally its illegal but who cares...)

That's pretty neat stuff.  Apparently I've been in left field on this one, I hadn't heard of it before.  :)

It seems like a console version of an interface like the J-PAC could be a lot cheaper for non-commercial use.  Perhaps different "pods" for different console systems, and you could plug your consoles right into your jamma cab...  Just dreaming...   ;D

I remember when they first came out.  I wanted to get one and someone on the board was trying to get a combined order.  It was like 100 bucks or so for just the board and hookups.  Seemed fair to me.... but not having a dreamcast at the time....

But to be able to use real arcade guns and steering wheels is where the board shines..
