WTB: Dreamcast, shipping to Australia
« on: October 26, 2012, 07:51:44 am »

DC's are too expensive in Australia. Just thought I'd see if anyone here is interested in selling me one. If from the US I'll either use a spare 240V PSU I have (if I can find it!) or a step down transformer. If from the UK, I don't have to worry about anything at all (",)

Basically just looking for the bare minimum- console, a controller, AV lead to keep shipping costs down...

There's a store here selling them for $54 and I've been wanting to check it out anyway.  If you want, I can grab one and mail it provided you cover the shipping expenses.

You're a good man PBJ, I don't know why they say the things they say about you (",)

I'm watching a couple on ebay at the moment but I think as long as your shop has decent clean looking ones, and the price includes AV lead (not RF!) and a controller I may run with that. I'll keep you posted...

I've got a few of dreamcast bits, memory card, rumble packs and a VMU you can have if you want them. I have no idea of the condition, they were in a box of other stuff I got. PM me you address and I'll send them if you want them.

Looks like i might have a man in Japan to source me one. Really cheap, and freight is a bit lower too. I'll see how it pans out (",)

Hey Dan-o, shop near here always has them in stock. I can get one and ship it to you no problem. Send me a pm at the fort if you want me to pick one up for you.

What price have they got? PBJ's place was $54, although that post is gone for some reason. The JAP ones are really cheap, but I seem to have lost contact with my man in Japan for the moment, and also I'll want to chip it for most enjoyment. If your guy has reasonable prices for a basic setop (console, controller, AV lead not RF), we can try him. The more I think about Metropolis Street Racer, the more I want one  ;D

I finally picked one up cheap from the UK. It came with a scart lead though, no use to me. I don;t suppose you have a genuine Sega AV lead in that box of bits?

get a VGA box, most of them have composite out on the side as well, but DC games look pretty great through VGA

Thanks (",)

Malenko, the VGA boxes cost more than I paid for the console! I will avoid buying one out of principal  ;)

No luck unfortunately. I'll ask the mate that gave me the box of stuff if he has a loose one.

Just had another play with the cable. Made a ghetto mod by grafting a better quality video lead on to test the difference. Couldn't really see much. I think next year I'll be tempted to get get a VGA box. I have a 17" PC monitor which it would look sweet on...

I'm sure your attempt would be more aesthetically pleasing.  :afro:

I would lose much slack fu for doing this. Turns out there is a UK seller of aftermarket cables that actually work. That sounds like a lot less work (",)
