Should the inside side-panel be matt black?
« on: October 10, 2012, 04:04:50 am »
Hello,
My arcade cabinet is going to be high-gloss red for the side panels, high-gloss black for inside sections (kick-panel, speaker, etc) with bits of chrome.

Discussing with a friend I said I was painting the inside of the side panel red as well and he said, well if you do that you'll get reflections on the screen, which I never thought of.

Has anyone got any experience of this and should I be using black and/or matt on the inside instead?

I've always done mine in black and never noticed an issue

I a low gloss black seems to be the most common among real machines. I have seen gloss and matte as well and quite a few colors, never seen a reflection problem.
