Mala Attract Mode - Help Needed
« on: October 09, 2012, 08:05:35 pm »
I am currently working on a MAME project using Mala as a frontend. When it is not being used, I want it to go into an "attract mode" that just shows videos of the games being played. I have tried to do this under the GUI Screensaver option, but when I actually try it using Mala, the screensaver pops up and says "No Videos Were Found In /" I have tried converting my videos to avi, mov, flv, and mpg, but it won't find any of them. I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong, using the wrong video format, or need to do something different altogether. Any suggestions or help would be great, thanks!

I'm not in front of my arcade/Mala machine right now to double check your strategy, but off the cuff I'd suggest your triple check you path to your videos. Sounds like Mala can't find the correct folder containing the videos. Then, make sure that the format is acceptable to Mala. Mpeg should be fine. Make sure the movie(s) are not too big for your set resolution.

Anyway, that's all I got right now. Food for thought when looking to solve your issue.

I did all that, still doesn't seem to work. No worries though thanks for your help. If you have time to check out your arcade/mala cab and figure something else out, let me know. Thanks!
