First time setting up Mala questions
« on: October 06, 2012, 05:30:05 pm »
Part 1:
So. I want to use Mala and I am in the process of configuring it. I was quickly scanning thru my game list with Mala launched and some new things popped up mixed in with my games. For example, Amiga CD32 Bios, Atari PSX, Atari System 1 BIOS, Altus PSX, etc.

What are these files?
I thought they might be included links to other game systems (Atari, Amiga). If they are, will it affect my gameplay if I use the option "Remove game from this list?"

Also, will it screw things up if I delete things frome the file name? Ex: rev 3 or (set 3, US) or ver EAD etc etc. I thought that as long as I don't change the rom name it won't matter but wanted to confirm first. I just think that stuff other than the title makes it look messy.  Thanks for the help

The mala rom scan probably picked them up accidentally.

Mala will never (as far as I'm aware) delete any file when you remove an entry from a game list, so just delete the bogus entries.

If you want to do things en mass, grab a copy of ROMLISTER. It can generate Mala Game lists via some very capable filtering rules.
