I went but didn't get a price list this time--It was more expensive or at leat they had better games--131 this time.  They had a destroyed star wars sit down that went for 350 and all the shooters (even the crappy egg-venture) went for a minimum of 350$  As usual pins were a steal ranging from 1000-2500 (the star wars ep. 1 pin went for 2250 i think)

My buddy picked up a street fighter cab with a fuzzy monitor for $150--hopefully its an easy fix once we figure out whats wrong with it.  Any idea when the next one is?

The next Starburst Coin auction is November 8th.

I went to the auction as well but left before the biding started.

I would be curious to know how much the Crystal Castles cab went for. I just couldn't wait around for 3 hours to find out.

It would be nice to link up with a fellow BYOACer for the next auction. Anyone interested?

Folks hate to tell yah but I have been going to those starburst auctions for the last 11 yrs and one thing I know it is FULL of shillers. And now the major drag is most of the old timers are now finding out about ebay. And talking to one operator a few months back he was telling me his grandson told him what all the old cabs that are sitting in his barn are worth. There goes the days of getting cheap cabs from him. But one thing I know for shure is all operators talk to each other it won't be long before they all figure out about ebay and mame.
Curls in the squat rack !?!?!

I agree that there aren't the deals that there used to be but you can still pick up a half decent machine for 150$ CDN if you're not too picky.  Haven't seen that on ebay very often.  My buddy just picked up a working street fighter cab (capcom boards inside) for 150--works like a charm!

I picked up my machine from the auction last December (right before christmas too!)

I paid 150$.. it came with a 25" monitor, and running Xmen children of the ATOM CPS-2 board, which I sold on eBay for 95$US.

I probably spend over 500$ now to MAME this machine, but it could have been more if I had to pay for the body & monitor!

Jon,

Thanks for the auction summary. Well done too!

I remember seeing you there. For a first timer you looked like you knew what you were doing.  ;)

Good luck in your venture.
