Midway Space Invaders Machine - Power Switch
« on: September 25, 2012, 07:43:48 am »
Hi Folks.

I am doing a restoration and conversion to MAME of this machine, and so all power is now modern and powering a PC and screen etc.

Does anyone know how I can make a power switch that fits in the original top switch hole? I would like to either:

a) power on all the electrics
or
b) switch on/off the fluorescent back-light.

It depends whats easiest, or what other ideas you have.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards.

Plug everything into a smart strip.  Wire the PC On switch to button where the old Space Invaders switch is located.  When you turn on the PC, everything else turns on.  When you turn off the PC, everything else also turns off.

thanks for that, its a great help.

At this stage I am going down the smart strip route and waiting for my LED's to arrive, I then need to make a trip to pickup some wood as the cabinet need a litttle TLC. But I will then be able to crack on, and complete the build.
