Confirm a theory please. X in 1 video signal
« on: September 23, 2012, 09:15:35 pm »

As you can see a wire has come free from the motherboard. Rather than re soldering it and then running a CGA to VGA converter from the jamma harness can I cut a VGA cable and wire it directly to the motherboard and run it straight to a VGA monitor?

What board is that? My 60-in-1 can do CGA through the JAMMA edge connector or VGA from a VGA port on the board itself.

And instead of cutting your VGA cable to solder to the board, why not solder on a VGA connector instead?

Why not a connector? I don't have one in hand and I'm lazy :dunno

This is the board.

I'm having trouble finding any info on it anywhere. The manual is in Chinese other than the games list and "Please have athrough reading of this manual" ::)

I think I'll just take it back and go with a 60 in 1.

It really depends on the board in question and if it actually supports VGA. You can't trust the word VGA to mean it actually has VGA support. It might be set up to run 15 khz with no vga support at all. The same basic circuit boards get reused in a lot of different ways with the x in 1 boards.
