ROM locations
« on: October 09, 2003, 04:04:09 pm »
Is it possible to have your roms on different drives?  I'm working on a cabinet for a friend and he already has a spare computer with a 10 gig drive and with MAME version .74 it may not be big enough.  I have a second 6 gig drive I could put in.  So, can I have roms on both drives and have it work?  I'm using emuloader as the front end if that makes a difference.

Thanks

Yes you can... Mame handles it well.

in the mame.ini there is the rompath.

I believe (ok, don't know but think) that emuloader is also fine with it.

Now tell frontend developers to support it.  Many of these new FEs that are coming out don't support more than one location.

3dArcade used to have difficulties with roms not being in the same directory as mame, but )p( has fixed it in the newest version so that FE should work fine, as of 3 or 4 weeks ago.
