AMI Model D trim question

Been a lurker for about a year on this forum so it is time for a question.

I recently bought an AMI Model D. It is working OK. The guy who sold it said the painted pattern on the body and the silver wallpaper around the inside were original, but all pictures I have seen have mahogany or bleachwood trim on the body and a burgundy colour vinyl finish on the inside. Should I leave it as is or attempt to restore the mahogany and burgundy vinyl?

Its entirely possible. Could be an early model or a first of the production run before it was standardized. does it have a super low # serial??

...Or the original finish got damaged and was recovered. People do all kinds of weird things.

I would think that the jukebox was maded from one of the original styles, it is over 60 years old and who knows of its history.

If you want to look at the two styles a good site to look on is www.jukebox-world.de go into their Archive section and choose the camera icon on Ami.

This site also has a good forum and sales section. Hildegard & Oliver Stamann aregreat people. It may be best to use the Google translater whilst on the site.

Thanks for the feedback. The serial number is 16180. I still haven't decided whether to leave or try restoring it.
