Megatouch Maxx Startup problem
« on: September 01, 2012, 06:18:19 pm »
Hello. I am new to this forum so if I am posting in the wrong place, please let me know. I recently won an auction for a Merit Megatouch Maxx with the Jade 2 hard drive. After receiving the shipment I plugged it in to test it out. It worked fine for a couple of hours. I shut it down for the night and the next day tried to power it up. It went to the boot up screen. Then it went to the loading screen but when the indicator bar got 1/4 filled it reset to the previous boot up screen. It did this on and on for about half an hour without ever starting. I opened it up to check connections, ribbon cables, fans etc. The fans were all running and there was a red led that was lit on the board. Still nothing. I do not have a coin mech in it so I don't think I can do a reset by pushing the calibrate and set up button. I don't even know if my machine has those. I have not been able to indentify anything like that. I have seen 3 sets of dip switches and do not know which bank of switches would control what. This morning I tried to re-seat all connections and when I tried to power up the machine, the picture was blank and the fans were not running and no led lit up. I hope I did not turn a several hundred dollar piece of equipment into an 82 lb. paperweight. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Any replies please put in layman's terms because I am still new to these machines. Although I seem really good at turning one into junk in a small space of time.

Shipping something from the U.S. to Canada for repair/exchange?  Please use USPS to avoid (additional?/excessive?) shipping charges.  PM me if you have any questions.
