trackball usage
« on: September 01, 2012, 02:19:50 pm »
My trackball operates like the mouse in windows, but in games it appears to be non functional.  Any tips for getting it to work?

I am using Mame32 as my mame executable because barely anything works with the latest mame executable...

You do know in Golden Tee you turn the man with buttons, right?

Try Centipede.

Acceptance of Zen philosophy is marred slightly by the nagging thought that if all things are interconnected, then all things must be in some way involved with Pauly Shore.

Yes but to select a different club you roll the ball left/right. Also to pull of some of the shots on the shot calculator you need to have the left/right movement operational.

If you're using an X-Arcade, it has a button that is a horizontal disabler. So make sure that is not turned out if that's the controller you're using

When you go to map your Trackball X, does anything happen? Which version of Mame32?

actually joystick left / right seems to do the club selection.

trackball left / right is required to slice / fade etc, which is pretty critical.  At the moment I can only putt when the slope is straight, left and right is not fine grained enough.

I have bough a trackball from ultimarc, and it's connected to an ipac.  this works fine in windows.

mame32v103b (i tried mame0146b and 0143b however nothing worked, even from command line, 95% of roms failed)

I am using MaLa as the front end.

What is trackball X mapped to when you go to Input (this game)?
