FS: Huge Atari 2600/5200 Lot (Augusta, Ga)
« on: August 10, 2012, 04:59:36 pm »
Note:  This is the CL listing.  If you are a BYOACer I could probably do a better deal, but shipping might hurt.  Pictures are on the CL ad:  http://augusta.craigslist.org/vgm/3197146981.html

Huge Lot of Atari 2600/5200 Stuff

I am selling my Atari collection.  Everything is complete and all parts are licensed (No cheap knock off parts).

This includes:
-A complete Atari 2600 Console with special Atari Caddy.
-43 Atari 2600 games.  Including some uncommon titles like Kool-Aid Man.
-A set of paddle controllers, two joystick controllers, and the Atari Trackball.

-A Complete Atari 5200 Console (Four Port Model) with four controllers.
Note:  This system works, but the controllers need to be cleaned or rebuilt.   This is a very common problem with this system and if you buy one on eBay it will most likely be plagued with the same problem.  I bought one of these controllers BRAND NEW NEVER OPENED and it still didn't work.  The pads on the inside get corroded easily.  There are rebuild kits available online.  I did get one of the controllers to work, this is how I know the system does work.
-Ten Atari 5200 Games including Jungle Hunt (Uncommon)
-Miscellaneous boxes, instruction manuals, etc.

I have added up the values of each piece, taking in note the rarity of some pieces, and I came up with an asking price of $300.00 OBO.  I will be interested in Cash+Trade.  I collect a lot of Sega stuff, so if you have some Complete-in-Box Games or some Sega Genesis Model 1 Parts (Cables or Power Supplies) we might be able to trade some stuff.

I really don't want to break this lot up, but if the offer is right I will.

Sorry no, I went and looked to see if I could find you one from another source and they are kinda hard to come by all of the sudden.   :dunno

Why not just go ahead and buy the entire lot and then you'll have two!   ;D

I'll vouch for the 5200 controller issue.  I have gone through a couple dozen of them and they pretty much all have the same issue.

Colecovision, too, to a lesser extent.

What do you reckon a good price would be on Craig's List?

Yea and rebuilt ones go for 60 on eBay. The kits are 30-40. Not worth to me to play 5200, but someone else may want one.

Gold contact kits go for $40+.  The standard kit sells in the $25 range.
