Bezels and Resolutions
« on: August 01, 2012, 09:50:53 pm »
I just dropped the full artwork pack from the .146 extras set into my artwork folder.  Great, now bezel art and what not is showing.  A couple of questions:

I am using GroovyMame, keep that in mind.

1.  It would appear now that all of my games have shrunk.  I think the resolution is wacky now.  Even on something like Mortal Kombat, which typically would take up the full screen, now seems to be taking up about half of the screen.  Ideally, games that have the bezel artwork turned on, everything would fill the screen.  Possible?

2.  Can I just turn on the Bezel, without the rest of the artwork?

3.  Can I turn off the artwork globally, then just turn on the artwork on a game by game basis?

That will turn the bezels off.  It's in the config settings.

here are the other artwork options in config
 CORE ARTWORK OPTIONS
#
artwork_crop              0
use_backdrops             1
use_overlays              1
use_bezels                1
use_cpanels               1
use_marquees              1

As for # 3, if there isn't a way to do that systematically then you could only put artwork for the games in question in the artwork folders?  Maybe too labor intensive idk.

Cool, thanks. Which switch will stretch the game to fit the screen?

Also, couldn't I just use the use_bezel switch from the command line to turn the bezel on on a game by game basis?  Tedious yes, but I only want to do it on certain games.

Thanks again for the input!
