Hey everybody - I know it's been a long time since I poked my head around these forums but something is coming up that I thought you'd all be interested in. Down here in Guadalajara we have an extremely large and strong Fighting Game Community that gets together once a week on Saturdays. To celebrate our Facebook page (
www.facebook.com/versusmx) getting over 1000 likes we're now having a special event. We're going to be having a random game tournament just for fun. These are all expert players in Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and Street Fighter 4. Let's see how they do in.... Primal Rage!
We will be streaming live on Saturday July 28th. The stream will start around 4:00pm CST and the tournament will start around 5:00pm CST. (Although we're debating changing the start time to 4:00pm to ensure we finish on time.) We expect around 30 players for the tournament.
www.twitch.tv/versusmxThe stream will have the players cam and live commentary (albeit in Spanish). Check out some of our previous Shiroitsuki videos for examples of what we typically do every week. You can even see me doing some test videos with Hyperspin just checking to make sure everything works.
The rules of the tournament are simple:
At the start of each match the players wait a couple seconds for Hyperspin's attract mode to kick in. The wheel will then spin spin spin... where it stops - nobody knows! Whatever game it lands on HAS to be played. 2 out of 3 Double Elimination Tournament brackets
To mix things up we have gone through the games and tried to eliminate most games that people actually know how to play. We have some amazing Marvel vs Capcom 2 players as well as Street Fighter Alpha 3 and King of Fighters 2002 players but those games already get played regularly... we want to see how they do when they have no idea how to play! In addition we have thrown in a couple other games that have nothing to do with fighting such as Tetris Plus 2, Windjammers, Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo, and Puzzle Bobble!
All in all this will be a blast and naturally it's not a tournament that's to be taken too seriously. Feel free to check it out on Saturday!
