Since I am in my usual frame of mind tonight about new, interesting and inspiring products, I shall give my view of this new and exciting device for Macs as promoted by RR.
This is a great idea that comes out every once in a while by a company thinking it can out smart M$ and Nintendoh.
This device acts like a Kinect. It doesn't have a camera and might not need a aircraft hanger to operate in. +1
We are starting to see Kinect being developed in PC laptops, PC desktops and in the existing and future popular M$ games console.
It doesn't surprise me to see new innovations coming to the marketplace.
Kinect it is not being developed for the Mac.

So this might plug the void.
The movements in the Leap Motion is very good, but it is it as accurate? I hope so as it would be nice to reduce the cables on my desk.
I am not saying that this device is vaporware or is not new technology, but until it goes to product, passes corporate scrutiny and is in the shops, I'll just say it is a nice concept product for Macs and something we can later hack into our hobby.

Hope it doesn't get snared by a patent troll, before it goes to market....
I had a look around at it seems that this product will not hit market until late 2013, so maybe the media coverage is just to stir interest in some funding to get this product to market. What I have read so far concludes that this device will not have an impact on the Kinect market as you have to be practically on top of the unit to make it function. My Kinect works on my PC desktop in the same way but with more capacities but has to be perched 4 feet in the air above the desk, this device would definitely change that. It might be a practical application for disabled and challenged individuals.
