Jukebox bubbling lights
« on: July 17, 2012, 09:50:59 pm »
Hi all, I've decided that I want to build a touchscreen jukebox on a budget.  I want it to look like an old wurlitzer to an extent.  I want the overall shape (still learning on how to curve plywood for the top), the lighted plastic tubes, and the bubbling lights.  I have not found much online about bubbling lights for jukeboxes.  I know people usually suggest www.victoryglass.com but there are so many pieces, I don't know what I would need to run a simple system.  Does anyone know a simple and cost effective way to make this effect.  Also how could I get the plasitc tubing to put around the corners to light up.  If I can't figure out a bubbling light system, I might just do rope lights.  Any help would be appreciated.

Lots of different possibilities for this.

Thanks for the reply, but that thread doesn't really show that much.  It shows someone's concept of a bubble tube, a broken link, and www.victoryglass.com  Does anyone know what parts exactly I would need to make the bubble lights from www.victoryglass.com?

Not exactly bubble lights, but hogcia's build is pretty slick

Also, if he's still around Barbosa might be able to help, he's done some fabulous builds with stuff from victory glass

I like hogcia's route with the lights.  Where do you get the smoked plastic covers for the lights?  I don't know how to search for them online.  I found the lights themselves at home depot's website for $40.
