ottomame - just an idea
« on: July 17, 2012, 11:23:07 am »
hey guys,

i already have 5 projects in the queue but had an idea for another so this one won't see the light of day for a while.  i have an ottoman sitting around that i thought could be converted into ottomame.

the thought is to have an lcd mounted into the lid.  when you would open the lid, the CP would rise up and out a bit, hanging over the front.

i'm trying to sketch out the mechanism that would raise the panel when the lid is lifted.  a gear system could work but i would have to reverse the throw of the gear.  maybe some kind of automation, when the lid is in the full up position, it throws a switch to lift the panel out.

again, just a thought at the moment and it now is project number 6 in the pipe...

might be cool but you also need to have the ottomame rise from the floor somehow unless you were planning on sitting on the floor to play. My ottoman is abot couch level and thats way to low!
